
Michael Francis Cormier
AUGUSTA – Michael Francis Cormier, 86, passed away at the Togus VA Medical Center on March 23, 2025. He was born on Dec. 15, 1938, the son of Dorothy (Anderson) and Benedict Cormier.
Mike grew up in Augusta and was a graduate of Cony High School in the class of 1958. Following school, he was drafted into the Army and served for two years before his honorable discharge. In the 1970’s he purchased a concrete business and proudly owned and operated Cormier Foundations for over 50 years before he retired at 83 years old. Mike had a hard work ethic and often worked circles around the younger employees. In addition to the concrete business, Mike owned Cormier’s Auto body.
Mike was a fan of Nascar and visited various racetracks with his brother Tim. During the winter months, he and his wife Linda as well as Tim and Judy enjoyed residing in Deland, Fla. In his spare time, Mike also enjoyed browsing lawn sales and visiting auctions. Mike had a deep love for his two loyal companions, Bodie and Bounder, his beloved yellow Labradors who were with him at different periods of his life.
He was predeceased by his parents; his son, Michael Cormier Jr.; and his siblings, Carl Cormier Sr., and Connie Huard.
Mike is lovingly survived by his wife and best friend of 41 years, Linda Cormier; his brother Tim Cormier and life long partner Judy Rinaldi; his son, Benedict “Benny” Cormier, stepson Wayne Watson; grandchildren, Layla Cormier, Molly Cormier, and step granddaughter Taylor Watson Elliott and husband Bobby; three great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A period of visitation will be held on Saturday March 29 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta, ME 04330 where a memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. Condolences, stories or photos may be shared by visiting http://www.plummerfh.com.
