Sylvia Lorraine Curtis
ATHENS – Sylvia Lorraine Curtis, 92, passed away on March 19, 2025, at home with family by her side. Sylvia was born in Norridgewock on March 7, 1933, daughter to Arlene Marion (Hilton) and Fred Jewett Wheeler.
A beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and friend, Sylvia was a remarkable woman whose life was filled with love and devotion to her family and friends.
She was an active member of her community, holding a position as a Selectwoman in Kingsbury and being a proud member of the Harmony VFW and Athens Victory Club. Sylvia’s dedication to service, her family, and her community were evident in everything she did.
She was predeceased by her husband Gordan Wallace Curtis; grandson Shanon Post, granddaughter Tonia Post; brother Willard Wheeler, and companion Charles Bagley.
Sylvia is survived by her daughter Bonnie Tydlacka with her husband Thomas, grandsons Alan Tydlacka with his wife Tracy and Brian Tydlacka with his wife Teresa, great-grandchildren Allie and Hunter Tydlacka, Nichole Quimby, and great-great-grandchildren Adriana, Emma, Johnson, and Sawyer Steuber; daughter Lorraine Post with her husband Harland, granddaughter-in-law Kristin Post, and great-grandsons Ethan and Ashton Post; son Robert L. Fish, Jr. with his fiancé Chrstine Syzdek, grandchildren Robert L. Fish, III with his wife Lora, Brandi Williams with her husband Charles, great-grandchildren Dakotha and Dylan Fish, Christine’s daughter Meagan Stearns with her husband Michael and her grandson Garrett Podolec; son Wally Stetson with his wife Marsha, granddaughter Miranda Merrill with her husband Devin and great-grandchildren Trevor and Jasmyn, grandson Dillin Stetson with his wife Chelsi, and great-grandson Owen; sisters Mary Ellen Clark of Georgia and Irene Wagner of Colorado; and special friends Brian, Gloria, Logan, Ralph, and Linda Bagley.
