CORNVILLE — A fire Wednesday morning destroyed a garage and everything inside of it, a fire official said.

Firefighters were called to 997 Beckwith Road, which is also Route 150, around 7:30 a.m. for a detached garage on fire, said Chief Alan Nickerson of the Cornville Fire Department.

The garage and a car, side-by-side, lawnmower and tools stored inside were “completely destroyed,” Nickerson said.

No injuries were reported.

The cause had not been determined with certainty Wednesday morning.

“Leaning quite heavily towards a generator,” Nickerson said. “They had no power this morning and they were running a generator. That seems to be where it started, in that area.”

Fire departments from Anson, Athens, Canaan, Madison, Norridgewock, Skowhegan and Solon assisted, Nickerson said. Crews cleared the scene by 10:30 a.m.
