Matthew Fallona of Scarborough slides into third base on May 1. Gregory Rec/Portland Press Herald

Thornton continues to win and continues to rise in the Varsity Maine baseball poll. Two weeks ago, the Golden Trojans were unranked. Last week, they were third, and this week they move into second place behind the only other unbeaten team in Class A South, Scarborough, which has been on a tear recently.

Marshwood jumped up two spots to No. 4, and Cape Elizabeth has entered the rankings at No. 9.

The Varsity Maine baseball poll is based on games played before May 20, 2025. The top 10 teams are voted on by the Varsity Maine staff, with first-place votes in parentheses, followed by total points.
