BANGOR – David Bruce Suchy, 80, passed away on May 10, 2025, in Bangor after a brief battle with an illness.
David was born on July 11, 1944, i n Bridgeport, Conn. He graduated Warren Harding high school and enlisted into the Marines after graduating.
While serving in the Marines he was stationed in Veitnam as a motor man in the 507 batalion. When he returned from Vietnam, he spent time in Quantico, Virginia, working as a FBI instructor for new recuites. After being hororably discharged, David worked at Remmington arms making bullets for the miliary. David then found employment at Moores special tools as a mechanic. Davids true passion was in truck driving where he worked for many different companies over his 30 year career before retiring.
David loved the outdoors and spending time in the woods, whether he was hunting, fishing or just taking in the scenery and watching the wildlife. David also enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially his granddaughters. He was an avid supporter of veterans and donated his time to help support their casues, including moving the vietman wall.
David was predeceased by his mother, Ruth, compaion and wife, Barbara sons Leroy and Mark, and brother Fred, sister, Rita, brother-in-law Earl Wildman, as well as his friends, Chuck and Janet Koller.
David is survived by his son, Robert, of Winlow, granddaughters, Heidi Suchy of Chittenago, N.Y., Melissa Suchy and her companion Matt Tessier of Manleus, N.Y., special graddaughter, Rowen (Niada) Suchy of Mesa, Ariz., and great-granddaughter, Hanna Furlong.
Visiting hours will be held on May 29, from 5-8 p.m., at Veilleux-Redington- Lawry Brothers. A burial will be held on May 30, at Morrison Corner cemetery at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers the Suchy family is asking that donations be made to the Travis Mills Foundation.
