Al F. Longstaff Jr.

AUGUSTA – Al F. Longstaff Jr., born July 28, 1945, passed away at his home May 20, 2025.

Al graduated in 1963 from Skowhegan High School.

Al spent many years working at Depositors Trust and for more than 20 years, he worked for Sappi Somerset Mill in Waste Water treatment.

Al had many interests and passions which included reading, traveling, and exploring new places, antiquing, entertaining, and retail therapy. He also enjoyed BM in the AM with Jane and Sandy, dinners at Otto’s, and trivia at Stone Tree Winery in Unity.

Al was predeceased by his partner and best friend, Daniel W. Pomerleau in 2021.

Al is survived by a sister, Sandra Newton and husband John; a brother, Michael and wife Lori; sister-in-law, Barbara Shepard and husband, Kip.

Al is also survived by a son, Bryan Longstaff; a daughter, Jill Post and husband Percy; five loved and adored grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and many other beloved family and friends.

There will be no public calling hours. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at 11 a.m., at Holy Family Cemetery in Augusta.
