Blaze Jordan went 3 for 4 with a home run and four RBI, and three Portland pitchers combined on a six-hitter Friday night as the Sea Dogs shut out the Reading Fightin Phils, 6-0, in an Eastern League game at Hadlock Field.
Isaac Coffey made his first start of the season for the Sea Dogs and retired all nine batters he faced, with four strikeouts. David Sandlin struck out six over the next five innings, and Jonathan Brand closed out the victory in the ninth.
Mikey Romero led off the bottom of the first with a double — the first of his three hits — and scored on a two-out single by Jordan.
Romero scored again in the fifth on a wild pitch, then Jordan broke the game open with a three-run homer. Two batters later, Max Ferguson belted a solo home run.
