Sandra “Kay” Beaulieu

RANDOLPH – Sandra “Kay” Beaulieu, 81, beloved mother, grammie and great-grandmother (“GG”), died May 27, 2025, in Augusta after a period of declining health. She was born Nov. 3, 1943, in Lincoln, Neb., the daughter of Alice (Bourke) Stoehr and Gustav Stoehr. She was educated in Lincoln schools and graduated from Lincoln Northeast High School.

Kay married Harry Henry Beaulieu, Jr., a marriage that lasted for nearly 50 years until his passing in 2016. After staying at home with her children when they were young, Kay began a long and enjoyable work career. She worked for several years as the manager of Wellby Super Drug in Lincoln, Maine and later worked at Walmart in Lincoln before completing the company’s management program. While living in Lincoln, she and Harry owned an antique business, The Willows. Those years were filled with many happy memories of time spent with friends and customers.

The couple moved to Randolph in 2007 to be closer to family and Kay later began her last job, working in the deli at Goggins IGA in Randolph. After retiring, she kept busy as a volunteer in the Alfond Center for Health Gift Shop in Augusta and Faith Christian Church Food Pantry in Gardiner.

For many years, Kay enjoyed scrapbooking and created many small and large scrapbooks that are treasured by her family. She also loved hosting family and friends for Thanksgiving dinner and cooked many meals accompanied by her grandson Jack. She loved her family dearly and was especially happy following the activities of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Kay also was skilled at growing and maintaining plants and her homes always were filled with greenery.

More than anything, Kay will be remembered for always having a pot of coffee at the ready and several cases of blue Equal on hand in case of emergency. Kay lived independently in Randolph right up to her passing, surrounded by many dear neighbors who, along with her friends at church and in the community, were her extended family.

Kay was predeceased by her husband and children Kevin Bate and Terry Retke. She is survived by her daughters Michelle “Missy” (John) Begin, Cheryl (Denney) Rand and Kelly (Steve) McRorie; sons Joe and Peter Beaulieu; grandchildren Joseph (Jessica) Rand; Brandi (Robert) Given; Jeremiah Daniel (Leeanne) Gattis; Ian Rogers; Emma, Grace and Jack Begin; and Bella Kokos; great-grandchildren Taylor and Karsyn Rand; Rielyn, Hannah and Sadie Given; Tennessee and Everett Gattis; and Lily and Rosalee Rogers; siblings Mary Cook and Mickey (Linda) Stoehr; and several nephews and nieces. She also is survived by many wonderful people who provided support, comfort and friendship in her later years, and her special dog Beans.

A memorial service will be held later at Faith Christian Church in Gardiner, Maine. Arrangements and guidance are in the care of Staples Funeral Home and Cremation care, 53 Brunswick Ave., Gardiner, ME. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared with the family on the obituary page of the Staples Funeral Home website http://www.StaplesFuneralHome.com
