This is in response to Mary Fallon’s June 4 letter titled “Laurel Libby is fighting for Maine girls.”

If Fallon took the time to do some research, she’d see that Libby is not fighting for Maine girls. Based on her voting record, Libby frequently votes against the rights and interests of Maine girls. Maybe, instead of praising someone for abusing a minor, by using their photo and name on social media, the post should have been about a male individual from this school competing in a female track meet and not using pictures or a name.

Maybe Fallon could look for the article about a 17-year-old Maine girl from Oceanside High School, who won two state wrestling championships in the boys’ division. I would not be praising anyone whose interest seems to be making a name for themselves or increasing political donation to puff up their ego.

It might be time to remember the 16th-century poet Thomas Tusser’s adage concerning a fool and their money soon being parted.
