As an Auburn citizen who is in Rep. Laurel Libby’s district, I am writing to commend her on her tireless fight to protect women and girls in Maine sports. Her recent win in the Supreme Court proves that she is fighting for the rights so deeply needed to protect females in our state.
The current administration in Augusta is too busy worrying about how to tax us more and not how to protect us. While I do not have a daughter in sports currently, I do have a granddaughter who will one day, most likely, be playing sports and I want her protected in the locker room. There is no reason for a biological male to be in a female locker room. Imagine a young girl training for a sport, hoping to get a scholarship, only to lose it to a boy who failed in his own gender’s sport?
Augusta needs to step up. The highest court in the land is on the side of Laurel Libby. Why can’t Augusta understand?
