Portland Sea Dogs pitcher Connelly Early, who threw six no-hit innings on Sunday, was named the Eastern League Pitcher of the Week on Monday.

Early, a 22-year-old lefty, struck out seven and walked three on 82 pitches in the Sea Dogs’ 3-1 win over the Binghamton Rumble Ponies on Sunday. In 12 games this season, Early is 6-1 with a 1.94 ERA in 55 2/3 innings.

He is the second straight Sea Dogs pitcher to win the honor. David Sandlin won it last week after also throwing six no-hit innings.

Portland, which snapped a four-game losing streak Sunday, opens a three-game series at New Hampshire at 6:35 p.m. Tuesday. The teams will also play three games at Hadlock Field starting Friday.
