Herbert Dwayne Stufflebeam
AUGUSTA – Herbert Dwayne Stufflebeam, a beloved father and the soul of Maine’s wilderness, departed on June 27, 2025. He was born in Davenport, Iowa on Dec. 29, 1931, to the late Eugene and Lilly Stufflebeam, Herbert carried the Midwestern spirit of resilience and adventure throughout his life.
Herbert’s passion was the great outdoors, a love he channeled into a successful career as a Maine Outdoorsman. Throughout his life, Herbert continued to share his love for the outdoors.
He was widowed by his beloved wife, Lynne of 49 years
Herbert is survived by his daughter, Judy Hayward, three sons Michael, Paul, and Mark Stufflebeam; grandchildren; and great grandchildren.
A military graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 15, at 10:00 a.m. in Section I at the Maine Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 163 Mt. Vernon Road, Augusta.
