AUGUSTA —Ray Fecteau of Mill Park Petanque has announced the completion of a short film about the game, “La Petanque: An Informational Video.”
The film was edited by Cony High School graduate Peter Ackerman. It was shown recently at a meeting of the Augusta Kiwanis Club, followed by a question and answer period.
This is the fourth year the petanque terrain at Edwards Mill Park has been in operation. It has grown from two players to more than 50, according to a news release. It is also the second year that Augusta Fuel Co. has sponsored the Bastille Doubles Tournament, held in July, that drew people from as far away as Florida. This fall — for the second year — Augusta Adult Education will offer the game in its curriculum. The course will be taught by Fecteau at Edward Mill Park on Northern Avenue, where the courts are located. For more information about the course, call 626-2470. To arrange a showing of the video, call Fecteau at 622-3389.
