Connelly Early allowed just three hits over six innings, and Allan Castro hit a two-run homer to lead the Portland Sea Dogs to a 7-1 win over the Hartford Yard Goats in an Eastern League game Saturday night at Hadlock Field.
Portland grabbed the lead in the second inning on Marvin Alcantara’s RBI single. In the third, Mikey Romero tripled to right field and scored on a Max Ferguson groundout.
The Sea Dogs then broke it open with three runs in the fifth, capped by Castro’s seventh home run of the season. Romero doubled home Alcantara prior to Castro’s homer.
Sea Dogs catcher Ronald Rosario was 3 for 4, including an RBI single in Portland’s two-run seventh.
