Leroy P. Desjardin
AUGUSTA – Leroy P. Desjardin, 93, passed away with family by his side on Friday, July 25, 2025. He was born March 29, 1932, in Presque Isle, Maine and was the son of the late Patrick King and Stella Desjardin-Haskell and stepfather Ralph Haskell.
Leroy served in the National Guard from 1949 to 1952. Leroy worked at Edwards Mill, D&H bus line and Associated Grocers before starting his truck driving career with Hemingway Transport, Sanborns Motor Express, APA Transport and Macomber Trucking. Leroy retired from full time trucking around 1990 and worked part time driving for Charlie’s Motor Mall, Dick’s used trucks and a private limousine service.
June 28, 1952, Leroy married the love of his life, Gisele Baillargeon. They were married for 68 years prior to Gisele’s passing in 2020. They had four children, Gary, Debra, Roxanne and Mark.
Leroy enjoyed music. His favorite pastime was playing his organ and keyboard.
Leroy is survived by his son Gary of Windsor, and his son Mark of Vassalboro along with his wife Tammy. He is also survived by his grandchildren Dwight, Keith, Brian, Simon and Tara; along with several great grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Leroy was predeceased by his parents, stepfather, grandparents, his wife Gisele, and daughters Debra and Roxanne.
Family and Friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Friday, August 8 at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Cemetery on Townsend Road in Augusta.
