With reference to the July 11 article “Farmington LGBTQ+ leaders condemn RSU 73 policy targeting trans youth,” I pose a few questions:
• How many parents of young girls, ages 12 to 13 and who are just entering puberty, think it is OK that these girls be forced to share their bathrooms with biological males?
• How many parents of these girls think it is OK that they be forced to disrobe in front of biological males who are around their own age?
• How many people have no problem seeing their daughter being forced to compete in sports with biological males — who are born physically superior to them?
Am I oversimplifying the issue? I think not.
