A Lewiston man suffered head injuries after the motorcycle he was riding collided with an SUV Friday morning on U.S. Route 202 in Winthrop.
Nicholas Danforth, 41, was riding a white Harley Davidson motorcycle around 8 a.m. traveling west on Route 202 when a purple 2018 Toyota RAV4 driven by Sara Caruso, 30, of Sabattus, made a left turn in front of him at Highland Avenue. The two vehicles collided.
Danforth was taken by Winthrop Ambulance to MaineGeneral hospital in Augusta with head injuries, according to a news release from Police Chief Paul Ferland. Danforth was in critical condition as of Friday afternoon.
The accident is being reconstructed by Maine State Police. Police from Winthrop and Monmouth responded, as did Winthrop firefighters.
