There is more than meets the eye in the Aug. 8 letter “Trump’s Christian advisers are failing him.” President Trump has all but eliminated illegal border-crossing through Mexico. My guess is, the second paragraph’s focus is immigration: “All people are equal in the eyes of God no matter their nationality, skin color, language they speak … (and last but not least) … or immigration status.”
The mentality of the Bible is referenced in the letter several times. Fair enough. Although, the letter presents a half-truth view on immigration. Let the full extent of the Bible be known. Romans 13:1 states, “Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities.” Titus 3:1 states, “Remind them to be submissive to rulers and authorities.” These verses apply to immigrants and any other underprivileged group. The Catholic Church is the earliest offshoot after biblical times; it knows all about immigrants. Part of paragraph 2241 of the Catholic Catechism states: “Immigrants are obliged to respect with gratitude the material and spiritual heritage of the country that receives them, to obey its laws and to assist in carrying civic burdens.”
President Trump wants immigrants to enter through legal channels, that includes asylum seekers coming through legally also. President Biden ignored the viable legal system already in place to regulate legal entry into America. Instead, millions of illegal immigrants overwhelmed our social welfare system.
President Trump is a compulsive liar? That’s nothing compared to how much “Catholic” President Biden helped Planned Parenthood keep the abortion bloodbath going during his presidential term.
