Amelia Chick scored the winning goal as Mt. Blue opened its field hockey season Friday with a 2-1 victory at Brunswick.

Morgan Hersey was the other goal scorer for the Cougars. Mt. Blue goalie Gwen Lesperance finished with one save.

Darby Brown scored for Brunswick and Isabel Troche recorded four saves.

HALL-DALE/MONMOUTH 1, LISBON 1: Chloe Beauchesne of Hall-Dale/Monmouth and Aubrianna Bright of Lisbon exchanged second-quarter goals as the teams played to a double-overtime draw in a season opener at Lisbon.

MOUNTAIN VALLEY 2, OAK HILL 1: Melina Byam’s goal in the fourth quarter lifted the Falcons over the Raiders in Wales.

Addison Libby also scored for Mountain Valley, and Isabella Dupuis made three saves.

Janiah McKay found the back of the net for Oak Hill. Ella Martin turned away eight shots.

GIRLS SOCCER

WINTHROP 3, OAK HILL 1: Abby St. Clair notched a goal and two assists for the Ramblers (1-0) in a victory over the Raiders (0-1) at Winthrop.

Bella Baehr and Harper Stasulus also scored for Winthrop.

Delia Goss got the lone goal for Oak Hill.

SKOWHEGAN 9, LAWRENCE 1: Lydia Herrick and Mae Dubois each poured in four goals as the River Hawks defeated the Bulldogs in Fairfield.

Addie Bubier also scored for the Skowhegan. Vivian Hart and McKaela McLaughlin each had two assists.

Madelyn Provost scored for Lawrence.

TEMPLE ACADEMY 2, RANGELEY 1: Sofia Isgro scored both goals for the Bereans in a victory over the Lakers at Waterville.

Madelyn Corey got an assist on one of Isgro’s goals.

MARANACOOK 2, MT. ABRAM 0: Phoebe Bell scored two goals to lead the Black Bears to a season-opening victory over the Roadrunners in Readfield.

The Black Bears (1-0) outshot the Roadrunners (0-1) 16-5.

LEAVITT 3, GARDINER 2: Tyler Mates scored twice and added an assist as the Hornets won their season opener in Turner.

Damon Rucci also tallied a goal for Leavitt.

Brady Peacock converted a penalty kick and Abderrahmen Rahili was the other goal scorer for Gardiner.
