Big victories moved Falmouth and Cape Elizabeth closer to top-ranked Bangor in the Varsity Maine girls soccer poll. The Rams enjoyed a 15-point lead over the second-place Navigators last week, but Falmouth defeated a pair of ranked teams, Kennebunk and Thornton Academy, and is now only three points away from Bangor.

Among the Capers’ three victories was a 6-0 win over Class C South contender North Yarmouth Academy. Cape Elizabeth, like Falmouth, garnered an additional first-place vote and is now 10 points shy of Bangor.

The order of the top six is unchanged. Mt. Ararat jumped from a three-way tie for ninth to No. 7. A whopping 19 teams received votes this week, and Windham, Hermon and Medomak Valley garnered enough to join the rankings.

The Varsity Maine girls soccer poll is based on games played before Oct. 7, 2025. The top 10 teams are voted on by the Varsity Maine staff, with first-place votes in parentheses, followed by total points.
