On Oct. 18, thousands of Mainers will join millions of Americans for the No Kings
Rally — a peaceful, nationwide stand for democracy.
In America, we don’t do kings. This rally is to reject authoritarianism in all its forms: the glorification of unchecked power, the erosion of voting rights, the use of force against peaceful protest and the silencing of dissent.
These aren’t distant threats — they’re happening now. From the weaponization of federal agencies to the targeting of journalists and immigrants, we’re seeing autocracy in action.
No Kings reminds us that power belongs to the people — not one man, party or crown.
We rally to defend democracy, protect civil liberties and demand accountability from
officials we elect.
This is more than a protest — it’s a promise. It’s a promise that we won’t be ruled by fear, by
force or by ego. We will be governed by law, by compassion and by the will of the people.
Join us. Stand up. Speak out. Democracy only works when we do.
