If Democrats are angry and confused about the ineptness of their party, they need to look no further than Gov. Janet Mills’ decision to run for Susan Collins’ Senate seat.
When the national Democratic Party’s only consideration is running candidates it deems as having the best chance to defeat a Republican in 2026, rather the best candidate for the party’s future, we will continue to be overwhelmed by Donald Trump and his sacrosanct worshippers.
Mills has been a fine governor but she will be 78 at the time of election, and 84 when her term ends. If there ever was a time for Maine to be represented by new blood this is the time and, hopefully, the Democrats will be leading the way.
