Josh Denis scored in the first minute of the game, and seventh-seeded Erskine Academy shut out 10th-seeded Ellsworth, 1-0, in a Class B North girls soccer prelim Saturday at South China.
Bryce St. Onge stopped six shots for Erskine (7-5-3), while Cooper Mitchell of Ellsworth (8-5-2) made eight saves.
Erskine faces No. 2 Oceanside in the quarterfinals.
