I am being solicited more than ever for food pantries. I give as much as I can. However, to build a ballroom and purchase two planes for Kristi Noem while people stand to lose SNAP benefits is unconscionable — and horrible optics. It was this administration’s choice to end SNAP benefits during a shutdown.
Republicans must join with Democrats to denounce this cruelty being performed on their own people. This administration’s willingness to use the suffering of American citizens to further its agenda is sickening. The cruelty is boundless, as evidenced by willingness to cut health care support, SNAP benefits, the ongoing effect of cutting USAID as evidenced in the AP report on Oct. 9 detailing the suffering experienced by Myanmar’s children and resourcing ICE to round up people, documented and undocumented, criminal and non-criminal alike, without due process.
We the people are making our outrage known. Congress must stop this.
