June E. (Moody) Goucher
WINTHROP – Mrs. June E. (Moody) Goucher, 71, passed away, Monday, Oct. 27, 2025, at home, with her loving family by her side. June was the wife of the late Douglas L. Goucher Sr., who passed away in 2010. For the last 15 years, she has been in a relationship with her companion, Mark Thayer, also of Winthrop.
June was born on Feb. 13, 1954, in Augusta, to David W. Moody and Helen (Frost) Moody of Winthrop. She graduated from Winthrop High School in 1972 and later earned her associate degree from the University of Maine at Augusta. June was employed by Central Maine Power for 46 years, where she worked as a billing and data analyst until her retirement in 2017.
June always took pride in her family and her home. She always enjoyed camping, knitting and crafting, later on in her life she enjoyed playing solitaire and games of the like on her tablet, spending quality time with her companion Mark, their cat buddy, shopping and watching the birds that loved to come to her feeders.
June was predeceased by many of her family members including her parents, her sister Denise, her two half-brothers, Thomas Ridlon Sr. and Hubert Ridlon and her youngest son, Troy Goucher.
She is survived by her son, Chad M. Goucher of Winthrop, two stepchildren, Cindy Weymouth, of Monmouth and Douglas Goucher Jr. and his wife Melissa, also of Winthrop; several step-grandchildren; and great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Roxanne Ridlon of Winthrop, Terry Ridlon of Wayne, and Robin Reed of Winthrop and Phyllis Ross of Readfield and two brothers-in-law, Stephen Goucher of Sabattus and Greg Goucher of Mt. Vernon; and numerous nieces and nephews.
June’s graveside service will be held at the Glenside Cemetery, Turkey Lane Road, Winthrop, on Saturday, Nov. 8, at 10 a.m. All relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
