It was easy for average Americans, who believe in democracy and the Constitution, to save Jimmy Kimmel’s job and his right to free speech. It was easy to have over 7 million people peacefully protest the corrupt Trump administration. But now Americans need help — from the Supreme Court, all members of Congress, higher education facilities and businesses — to save America.
It is past the time for all people we voted for to represent us and stop fearing President Trump in order to save our democracy. He has pardoned all the convicted terrorists who stormed the Capitol, has sent ICE to remove immigrants, even those who are legal, without due process.
He has threatened Greenland, Canada, Panama and uses the DOJ to attack people who are against him. He sends the National Guard into our cities, citing nonexistent problems; he has blown up boats in international waters. Not to forget the tariffs.
While traveling the world “negotiating” with foreign countries, our own government is shut down. People are working without pay or being laid off and losing benefits, while he is tearing down part of a building he doesn’t own to make a grander ballroom we don’t need. (We’ve seen him dance!)
What is it going to take for the people who can do something to actually do something? Republicans and Democrats need to work together to restore our democracy.
