Barbara T. Greenlaw
SOUTH CHINA – Barbara T. Greenlaw, 74, passed away at Maine Veterans Home in Augusta on Nov. 7, 2025, with her loving husband at her side.
Barbara graduated from Richmond High School, class of 1969 before attending University of Maine at Orono where she received her bachelor’s in Psychology, graduating in 1973. This was also where she met her husband Wayne, they were both taking an additional class for ballroom dancing and ended up going to the final dance together.
Both Wayne and Barbara were looking for more excitement in their lives which led to Barbara enlisting into the United States Airforce. After basic training, they were stationed at RAF Upper Hayford in England where they spent three years working on base. Following England, they were stationed in numerous places, Pease AFB in New Hampshire for two years, Luke AFB in Arizona for three years, Hahn Air Base in Germany for three years, and Lowry AFB Colorado for six years. Barbara completed her 20 years of service at RAF Lakenheath in England again and happily retired in 2000.
Wayne and Barbara enjoyed traveling and loved learning about the different cultures. She loved to curl up next to a cozy fire with a book and would read for hours. They enjoyed dining out to different pubs and visiting village market days on Saturdays.
In addition to her husband of 52 years, Barbara is survived by her half-sister, Annie Babb; as well as many nieces, nephews; and close friends.
Barbara was predeceased by her parents; and her sister, Elizabeth Furlong.
