George Allen Pease
MONMOUTH – George Allen Pease, 90, of Monmouth, passed away unexpectedly on Nov. 6, 2025, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston. Born on Oct. 18, 1935, he was the son of Fremont Pease and Grace (Holt) Pease.
George was a hardworking man who lived life with kindness, laughter, and a deep love for family. Over the years, he held a variety of jobs that reflected his strong work ethic and dedication. In his younger days, he drove truck for Monmouth Canning, ran an egg route throughout the state, worked for Sableman Heel Company, and later retired in 1999 from Tex Tech Industries after many years of faithful employment.
A true outdoorsman, George found peace and joy in nature. He spent countless happy days at his camp in Salem, surrounded by family and friends. He loved hunting, fishing, exploring back roads, sitting around campfires, pitching horseshoes, and playing cards. He also enjoyed his Sunday drives, game nights, and Tuesday night cribbage – always up for a good laugh and friendly competition.
Family was the heart of George’s world. He rarely missed a birthday party, holiday gathering, or casual visit, and his presence made every occasion brighter. His laughter was infectious, his heart was generous, and his love for life was evident in everything he did.
In addition to his parents, George was predeceased by his first wife, Betty Fish; his second wife, Martha (Stevens) Pease; daughter, Tammy (Pease) Goodenow; grandson, Travis Pease; sisters Bertha Deveno, Helen Scott, and Esther Kay Douglas, brothers Merle Douglas and Fremont “Junior” Pease, and sister-in-law, Betty Burnham.
He is survived by his sons Dan and wife Nancy (Ludwig) Pease of Winthrop, Ricky and wife Dawnna Pease of North Monmouth, Randy and wife Roseanne Pease of Monmouth, Garry Pease of Monmouth; and Lou and husband Jude (Ryder) Pease of Buckfield. He also leaves behind sisters Mary Profenno of West Gardiner, and Roxanne and husband Robert Profenno of Freeport, sister-in-law, Judy and husband Myron Lyons of Greene; special friend, Alta Turcotte; 15 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; all very dear to his heart; and many nieces and nephews who held a special place in his life.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate George’s life on Saturday, Nov. 22, at 1 p.m. at Camp Mechuwana, 91 Holmes Rd., Mechuwana Lane, Winthrop.
George’s legacy of love, laughter, and family devotion will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
