Celia Bergdahl, Maranacook senior forward: Bergdahl averaged a double-double for the Black Bears last season and was a first-team Mountain Valley Conference selection. She’ll be the leader of a strong, veteran group.

Kirsten Bigelow, Valley senior guard: One of the offensive threats for last year’s Class D champion, Bigelow tied the tournament record by hitting five 3-pointers in a South semifinal against Greenville. She’ll again be one of the Cavaliers’ top producers in the new Class S.

Brynnlea Chaisson, Gardiner senior guard: A standout for the field hockey team in the fall, Chaisson is a tough defender on the basketball court. She returns to the Tigers after missing much of last season because of a concussion.

Olivia Childs, Erskine Academy junior point guard: Childs has shown excellent ability at both ends of the floor. Last season, she averaged 10 points, six assists and five steals. She’ll lead a strong offense this winter.

Kya Douin, Cony sophomore guard: Douin showed poise and was a scoring threat as a freshman last season. Along with Gabby Vachon, Douin will be relied upon as both a scorer and leader.

Kelsie Dunn, Erskine Academy junior forward: One of the top scorers in central Maine last winter when she averaged 16 points and five rebounds. She will be counted on to be a strong presence in the post.

Alice Ferran, Maranacook senior forward: A multi-sport standout, Ferran is a solid scorer and rebounder on the hardwood and was named second-team MVC last year.

Kaitlyn Frost, Monmouth Academy senior guard: A consistent threat, Frost was an MVC second-team selection for a second straight season last winter. She’ll be an asset on both ends of the floor.

Liana Hartwell, Valley sophomore guard: Hartwell was a key cog as a freshman as the Cavaliers as won the Class D title. She’ll be expected to take on a bigger role this season.

Maddie Provost, Lawrence senior guard: The Holy Cross commit and Varsity Maine All-State selection is one of the best scorers in the state, averaging 20.8 points per game last winter. She’ll try to cap her high school career by adding another Gold Ball after winning one as a freshman.

Alexa Quintana, Gardiner freshman forward: An intriguing prospect, the 6-foot-3 Quintana is the tallest Tigers forward since Lizzy Gruber, who is now a junior at the University of Maine. Quintana has already shown an ability to get up and down the floor quickly, and she’s a strong rebounder.

Ashley Shores, Lawrence junior forward: Shores was one of the top scorers for the Bulldogs last season. She will be counted on to be a presence in the post and alleviate some of the defensive attention paid to teammate Maddie Provost.

Molly Takatsu, Gardiner sophomore point guard: A do-it-all guard, Takatsu led the team in all statistics except scoring last season and was a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Rookie Team selection.

Kinsey Ulmer, Erskine Academy sophomore shooting guard: Ulmer made an impact as a freshman, averaging 12 points, six rebounds and six steals. She forms an excellent guard combination with junior Olivia Childs.

Gabby Vachon, Cony sophomore guard: Along with fellow sophomore guard Kya Douin, Vachon made an impact as a freshman and will be counted on to take a bigger role within the offense.
