I agreed with Karen Levine Egee’s op-ed, published back on July 7, that “people are basically good.” As I understand it, however, in America we have been trained by big business to believe that more is better: bigger houses, cars, better clothes, more money, etc. Too much competition.
We have become slaves to our wants. We have lost our sense of self. I believe we have forgotten that we need to plan enough time to relax and take care of ourselves and one another. More doesn’t equal happiness. Enough is OK.
I believe that President Trump is a terrible liar. I liked Franklin D. Roosevelt, Dwight Eisenhower, John F. Kennedy, Barack Obama and Joe Biden. Those were men of integrity. It would be good to have a decent woman as White House resident also.
We have to hope and pray that next we will elect someone that will truly work for the good of all people. We deserve that.
