Shirley (Rogers) Elliot
KENNEBUNK – Shirley Rogers Elliot passed away peacefully, at the age of 90, on Dec. 6, 2025, in Kennebunk.
Born and raised in Gardiner, Shirley grew up the youngest of four in a very active household where hard work was modeled by both parents. Shirley reminisced fondly about days riding horses through fields, time ice skating with her sister and friend Judy, swimming and working in the barn.
Shirley married Harvey O. Elliot in 1963, and together had two kids, Kathy and Danny. Shirley was an amazing mother, with a natural way with children having grown up around so many nieces and nephews. In 1969, Shirley and Harvey, and their children, moved into the little red house in Ogunquit, a house which Shirley loved. They loved to welcome friends and family to the house so they, too, could enjoy beautiful Ogunquit Beach.
Shirley was predeceased by her husband, Harvey O. Elliot; her parents William and Thelma (Dill) Rogers, parents-in-law Robert and Annie (Colwell) Elliot; and Shirley’s siblings Norman (brother) Rogers and William “Billy” Rogers.
Shirley is survived by her sister, Patricia Feilen of Boca Raton, Fla.; daughter, Kathy Samuelson (Sam and Jack) of Kennebunk; son, Dan Elliot (Jill, Bobby and Charlie) of Acton, Mass.; and grandson Will Samuelson of Sacramento, Calif. Shirley is also survived by numerous and beloved nieces and nephews; friends and neighbors.
Shirley leaves a huge hole in the hearts of all who loved her. She loved greatly and was greatly loved in return.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Jonathan’s Restaurant in Ogunquit on Feb. 28, 2026, at 11 a.m.
