Gavin Fanjoy scored six of his 16 points in the opening quarter and Erskine Academy built a nine-point lead en route to a 51-41 win over Waterville in a boys basketball game on Tuesday in Waterville.
Carter Ulmer (15 points) and Cam Coutts (12) also reached double figures for Erskine (9-3).
Jakobe Gagne scored 15 points for Waterville (1-9).
SKOWHEGAN 64, LEWISTON 54: Bryson Saucier scored 20 points and the River Hawks (6-5) beat the Blue Devils (7-4) in Skowhegan.
Jack Fitzpatrick added 18 points for Skowhegan, which outscored Lewiston 24-9 in the fourth quarter.
Grayson Bernard and Joao Samba each scored 14 points for Lewiston.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
MADISON 30, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 19: The Bulldogs (6-5) used a balanced attack to beat the Falcons (2-8) in Madison.
Leah Harper and Jillian Linkletter both scored six points for Madison.
Madison Blanchard had nine points and Madeleine Brown eight for Mountain Valley.
MT. ABRAM 63, LISBON 24: Jenna Osgood scored 18 points to lead the Roadrunners (9-2) to a win over the Greyhounds (2-8) in Salem.
Abigal McCarty added 14 points and Evelyn Pepin chipped in 13.
Liz Ferero scored 12 points for Lisbon.
MONMOUTH ACADEMY 48, HALL-DALE 28: Kaitlyn Frost scored 15 points and the Mustangs (4-5) cruised to a win over the Bulldogs (1-9) in Monmouth.
Peyton McDonald added 11 points.
Sierra Gibbons scored 13 points for Hall-Dale.
MARANACOOK 62, BOOTHBAY 24: Alice Ferran had a triple-double, scoring 15 points while adding 12 rebounds and 10 steals to lead the Black Bears (10-3) to a win over the Seahawks (4-6) in Boothbay.
Celia Bergdahl contributed 20 points and seven rebounds, while Cooper Davis and Hadley Farwell each scored seven points for Maranacook.
Eleanor Erwin led Boothbay with 11 points.
LINCOLN ACADEMY 70, MOUNT VIEW 42: The Eagles (2-8) broke open a close game with a 44-22 surge in the second half against the Mustangs (6-5) in Newcastle.
Chloe Anderson led Lincoln with 19 points. Rowan Coffin and Lillian Labrie each scored 15 points..
Mt. View got 14 points from Audrey Garnett and 11 from Madison Bennett.
LEWISTON 49, SKOWHEGAN 44: The Blue Devils (6-5) overtook the River Hawks (5-6) in the fourth quarter to capture a Class A North victory in Lewiston.
Lewiston trailed 36-32 after three quarters then outscored the Skowhegan 17-8 in the final period. Bailey Tardif-Mockler (seven points) and Emma Madore (five points) scored all of their points in fourth quarter to lead the charge.
Bailey Toderico made three 3-pointers and scored a team-high 13 points for the Blue Devils. Piper Croteau contributed nine points and Syhniya Jackson had eight.
Skowhegan’s Natalie Cooke dropped in a game-high 16 points, and Lydia Herick hit four 3s and scored 15 points.
