Judith A. Morrison

BENTON – Judith A. Morrison, 85, died peacefully on Jan. 11, 2026, in Waterville.

She was born on Oct. 19, 1940, in Waterville, Maine, the daughter of the late Leslie and Nina (Brooks) Sawtelle. She graduated from Hartland Academy with the Class of 1959 and married her high school sweetheart, Eugene Morrison, on Aug. 21, 1959, at the Methodist Church in Hartland. They shared 62 years together on their farm in Benton, a home that brought them both immense happiness.

Judy owned and operated Morrison’s Market in Fairfield for over 15 years. She enjoyed quilting and Swedish weaving. Her passion was genealogy, and she was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the New England Historical Society of Boston, and the Taconnett Falls Genealogy Club.

Most of all, Judy’s heart belonged to her grandchildren. Her love for them was boundless and unconditional; she was their quiet supporter, their biggest cheerleader, and they were the foundation of her fondest memories.

She is survived by three sons, Eugene “Allen” Morrison II of Palmyra, Todd Morrison and wife Lynne of Raymond, and Trevor Morrison of De Pere, Wis.; the six grandchildren she adored, Connor, Dylan, Hailee, Katie, Meghan, and Jack; and nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; and her loving husband, Eugene.

A memorial service will be held in the Spring of 2026 at the Shorey-Nichols Funeral Home in Pittsfield with a committal following at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Hartland.
