Kendall Bennett scored eight points in the second quarter as Binghamton turned a nine-point deficit into a seven-point lead and held on to beat Maine, 62-57, in an America East women’s basketball game in Binghamton, New York.
Bennett finished with 14 points and 12 rebounds for the Bearcats (14-6, 9-1 America East). Bella Pucci added 14 points, while Carletta Bennett had 13 points and six rebounds.
Adrianna Smith scored 29 points and grabbed seven rebounds for the Black Bears (10-11, 5-3), who had a two-game winning streak snapped. Sarah Talon of Windham added 10 points.
