Ten players were named semifinalists for the Becky Schaffer Award by the Maine High School Girls Hockey Association on Monday.
The award, which is given to the top senior girls hockey player in Maine, is named after former Yarmouth standout Becky Schaffer, who died in a hiking accident in 2011.
They are: Corinne Ramunno and Sophie Auger of the Biddeford co-op; Adelaide Strout and Celia Zinman of Yarmouth/Freeport; Briella Doherty and Ellie Skolnekovich of the Cheverus co-op; Solveig Ledwick of Brunswick; Avery Cologna of the Edward Little co-op; Carlin Galligan of the Gorham co-op; and Leah Michaud of Winslow.
The winner will be announced, along with all-state and all-conference teams, at the senior all-star game on Feb. 24 at the Falmouth Family Ice Center.
