Maddie Provost poured in a career-high 49 points to lead the Lawrence girls basketball team to a 94-43 win Tuesday over Belfast in Fairfield.
Provost made 11 3-pointers for the Bulldogs (12-5), who erupted for 35 points in the first quarter. Fellow senior Ashley Shores scored 17 points — 15 in the first half.
Hope Reynolds scored 10 points to lead Belfast (4-14).
BUCKFIELD 53, RICHMOND 23: Chloee Bennett led the Bucks (15-3) with 13 points in a Class D South win over the Bobcats (2-15) in Buckfield.
Alyssa Breton finished with 10 points, Haleigh Campbell scored nine and Sarae Devoe added eight for Buckfield, which jumped out to a 17-0 lead in the first quarter.
Mora Griffin led Richmond with eight points.
MADISON 42, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 16: The Bulldogs built a 26-8 lead by halftime and cruised to a win against the Falcons in a Mountain Valley Conference contest in Rumford.
Jaelyn Rich dropped in 17 points for Madison (9-9). Leah Harper added 14 points.
Maddy Brown scored eight points to lead Mountain Valley (5-12).
VALLEY 70, PINE TREE ACADEMY 28: The Cavaliers (17-1) capped their regular season with a decisive victory over the Breakers (8-10) in Bingham.
Valley, which will be the No. 1 seed in the Class S South tournament, had four double-digit scorers. Delia Hill (three 3-pointers) led the way with 15 points, Liana Hartwell and Brianna Mills each contributed 13 and Kirsten Bigelow finished with 11.
Pine Tree’s Chantal Mbonimpa made four 3s and scored 26 points. The Breakers will be the fifth or sixth seed in S South.
WINTHROP 54, BOOTHBAY 20: Evelyn Mortimer scored 17 points and the Ramblers (9-8) beat the Seagulls (5-13) in Winthrop.
Kylee Mansir added 11 points for the Ramblers.
Eleanor Erwin and Tatum French both scored eight points for Boothbay.
MONMOUTH ACADEMY 57, LISBON 20: Kaitlyn Frost’s 22 points led the Mustangs (9-8) past the Greyhounds (2-16) in Lisbon.
Addison Beaudoin, Eliza Armandi, Maeve Burgess each scored seven points for Monmouth, which is looking to lock down the fourth seed in the Class D South playoffs.
Liz Ferero led Lisbon with eight points.
CAMDEN HILLS 67, MESSALONSKEE 41: Eleven players scored for the Windjammers (14-3) as they cruised to a win over the Eagles (3-14) in Oakland.
Thea Laukka led Camden Hills with 22 points. Maren Johnson added 13.
Messalonskee’s Addie Hafford finished with 23 points.
BOYS BASKETBALL
VALLEY 81, PINE TREE ACADEMY 49: Fisher Tewksbury scored 29 points, Harry Louis added 25, and the Cavaliers (16-2) ended their regular season with a win over the Breakers (12-4) in Bingham.
Cameron Lay and Levi Short helped out with 11 points apiece for Valley, which will be the No. 1 seed in the Class S South tournament.
Colby Solberg led second-ranked Pine Tree (12-4) with 19 points. Rhett Tyson scored 15.
GARDINER 56, NOKOMIS 47: Trace Moody scored all of his nine points in the fourth quarter, leading the Tigers (15-2) to a comeback win over the Warriors (4-13) in Gardiner.
Nokomis erased a 30-24 halftime deficit by outscoring Gardiner 19-10 in the third quarter. Drew Grant fueled the Warriors’ surge, scoring all of his seven points in the third.
Gardiner, though, opened the fourth with a 10-0 run to regain control.
Brady Peacock, the only Gardiner player in double figures, finished with 15 points and eight rebounds.
Jeff Carr led Nokomis with 16 points, followed by Owen Sides with 11 and Seth Bowden with 10.
BUCKFIELD 47, RICHMOND 46: Trenton Haskell scored nine of 15 points in the fourth quarter as the Bucks (8-10) rallied past the Bobcats (2-15) in Buckfield.
Ryder Bragg added 11 points for Buckfield, which trailed 33-30 after three quarters.
Four players reached double figures for Richmond: David Edwards with 12, James Hathorne with 11, and Sully McDaniel and Zaden Steele with 10 each.
ERSKINE ACADEMY 73, LINCOLN ACADEMY 63: Jack Coutts scored 11 points in the fourth quarter as Erskine (13-4) ended the game with a 28-13 run to beat Lincoln (5-12) in Newcastle.
Coutts made eight 3-pointers and finished with 30 points. Gavin Fanjoy added 24 points and Cam Coutts had 10.
Deklan DiMauro scored eight of his 21 points in the third quarter to help Lincoln take a five-point lead. Chase Ober chipped in with 12 points and Michael Mitchell tossed in 11.
LEWISTON 48, MT. BLUE 45: The Blue Devils (10-7) finally overtook the Cougars (9-8) in the fourth quarter to earn an important Class A North victory in Lewiston.
Lewiston trailed 38-35 after three quarters then outscored Mt. Blue 13-7 in the fourth. The victory increases the Blue Devils’ chances at the fourth seed in the A North playoffs, while the Cougars are in a battle with Hampden for the sixth seed.
Grayson Bernard scored a game-high 19 points and Joao Samba added 10 for Lewiston, which will finish the regular season at second-seeded Edward Little on Thursday.
Mt. Blue was led by Evan Drake’s 13 points and Simon Thomas’ 12. The Cougars host Oxford Hills on Thursday.
GIRLS HOCKEY
BRUNSWICK 7, LEWISTON CO-OP 3: Gillian Countway recorded a hat trick and also set up a goal as the third-seeded Dragons (10-9) beat sixth-seeded Lewiston/Lisbon/Monmouth/Morse/Mt. Ararat/Oak Hill (2-17) in a North quarterfinal at Sid Watson Arena in Brunswick.
Solveig Ledwick added two goals and an assist. Quinn McCormack and Eira Jerome also scored, and Hensleigh LaBonte made 10 saves for Brunswick, which will play No. 2 seed Yarmouth/Freeport (14-2-2) at Norway Savings Bank Arena in Auburn on Saturday.
Crew Langley notched a hat trick for the Blue Devils. Tessa Heath stopped 17 shots.
BOYS HOCKEY
LEWISTON CO-OP 10, FRYEBURG CO-OP 1: Aizyk Laliberte scored six times and recorded two assists for Lewiston/Mt. Ararat/Lisbon/Morse (10-3-1) in a win over the Fryeburg/Lake Region/Oxford Hills (8-4) in Bridgton.
Austin Landry chipped in with two goals, and Anthony Kavanaugh and Lawson Mayer also scored.
Gunner Truman scored for the Ice Cats.
