WHITEFIELD – Stephen “Steve” Schlosser of Whitefield, passed away on Feb. 11, 2026.
Steve was born in New Haven, Conn., on Jan. 12, 1951. He spent his childhood in Hamden, Conn. where he graduated from Hamden High School and distinguished himself as a champion swimmer. Steve attended the University of New Hampshire and later moved to Boston, Mass., where he met his future wife, Lynne (also known as Alice). Together, Steve and Alice settled in Whitefield where Steve resided for the remainder of his life.
Steve was passionate about the outdoors and enjoyed camping and fishing, often accompanied by his brother, George. He had a fondness for cooking and a deep love for animals, especially dogs; throughout his life, he was never without a canine companion. Steve was known for his creative and personable nature, sharp sense of humor, fierce independence, and free spirit.
Steve was preceded in death by his brother, Jonathan Schlosser; mother, Joan Talbot Anderegg, and father, George Schlosser.
He is survived by his sister, Mary Schlosser of Portland, brother, George Schlosser of Topsham, brother, Peter Schlosser of Belgrade, and sister, Susan Schlosser of Vassalboro; Charlie, his devoted dog; and his many friends who deeply miss him.
A celebration of life event is being planned for early Summer 2026 on the property where Steve lived.
