While reading the March 15 letter to the editor “Trump has America on a success path,” I thought I was reading a letter from Donald J. Trump himself. It was so full of gushing praise, plus comparisons to actual successful past presidents like Roosevelt, Eisenhower, even Abe Lincoln! It was so similar to what we’ve all heard Trump say about himself on social media.
It boggles one’s mind that, while a majority of the people in this country think Trump is failing us, anyone would consider his policies successful. We have millions of unorganized protesters marching in the streets. Innocent people are being pulled from their homes and pulled from their cars — which are left open, with engines running, on the street. People are being murdered by out-of-control and poorly trained masked secret police. Our economy, which was once booming, is in decline. We are now involved in another unpopular Middle East war. And, we have cabinet members with zero experience in how to handle these issues.
How could anybody, but Trump himself, see these favorable comparisons as anything but laughable?
