A quick online search shows that gasoline purchases in the United States average about 377 million gallons a day.

If the average increase in the cost of gas is about $1 per gallon, it means that consumers are paying an additional $377,000,000 a day, or some $2.6 billion a week. I know what it means to me; others must decide what it means to them.
