Max Ferguson hit a grand slam in the third inning to lift the Portland Sea Dogs to a 7-0 win over the Altoona Curve in an Eastern League game Thursday in Altoona, Pennsylvania.
Portland (7-4) has won three straight and six of its last seven, while Altoona remains without a win this season at 0-12.
The Sea Dogs took a 2-0 lead in the second inning on a two-run single by Raudelis Martinez. Marvin Alcantara added a solo home run in the fourth and finished with three hits.
Eduardo Rivera allowed three hits, struck out nine and walked three in 5 2/3 innings to earn the win. Joe Vogatsky pitched the final 3 1/3 innings for a save. He gave up one hit and struck out two.
