Grace McKay scored her second goal of the game in overtime, lifting Messalonskee to a 4-3 win over Cony in a girls lacrosse season opener Thursday in Augusta.
Chloe Masse also netted two goals and assisted on the winner. Messalonskee goalie Adriana Pettengill made five saves.
Cony got two goals from Casey Monson and a goal and an assist from Gabriella Vachon. Avery Maxim stopped 11 shots.
MARANACOOK/WINTHROP 18, LINCOLN ACADEMY 1: Alice Ferran and Celia Bergdahl both scored three goals and the Black Bears rolled to a season-opening win over the Eagles in Newcastle.
Cooper Davis added two goals and four assists, Stella Stewart had two goals and two assists, and Mya St. Pierre had two goals and an assists for Maranacook. Alex Stewart (goal, two assists), Megan Parker, Regan Dwelley, Kayla Dubois and Emily Payne also scored.
Ysabelle Bhe scored for Lincoln Academy.
SOFTBALL
FOREST HILLS 10, CARRABEC 7: Janessa Moffitt drove in four runs and struck out nine batters as the Tigers beat the Cobras in North Anson.
Forest Hills scored four runs in the seventh to break a 6-6 tie.
Kaitlin Dellarma and Kendall Scheve both had a double and two RBI for Carrabec.
