Mitch Jebb singled home the go-ahead run in the sixth inning and went 2 for 4 with two runs and three stolen bases, and the Altoona Curve snapped a season-opening 12-game losing streak by defeating the Portland Sea Dogs 5-3 in an Eastern League game Friday night in Altoona, Pennsylvania.
The Sea Dogs were held to five hits, including a home run by Franklin Arias, who has homered in each of his last three games. Ronald Rosario was 2 for 4 and briefly tied the game at 3-3 in the top of the sixth with an RBI single.
Jay Allmer took the loss in relief of Dalton Rogers, allowing three runs on three hits and three walks in 1 2/3 innings. Rogers was charged with two runs in 4 1/3 innings. He allowed only two hits but walked five batters.
