Carol Anne Chambers

FALMOUTH – Carol Anne Chambers (Kervin) passed away peacefully on April 12, 2026, in Falmouth, at the age of 88, surrounded by her family after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Born on Feb. 7, 1938, in Moncton, New Brunswick, Carol was the eldest daughter of Harry and Greta Kervin. She was predeceased by her beloved brothers, Paul and Ken Kervin.

Carol pursued her passion for nursing at Saint John General Hospital Nursing School, graduating as a dedicated and compassionate nurse. She began her career in Canada before continuing her work in the United States at Augusta General Hospital in Augusta, where she specialized in mental health. Her empathy and genuine care left a lasting impact on her patients and colleagues alike.

While attending nursing school, Carol met Robert “Bob” Chambers, the love of her life. They were married and shared 60 wonderful years together until Bob’s passing in 2021. In 1960, they settled in Portland, later becoming deeply rooted in the Augusta community. In retirement, Carol and Bob enjoyed winters in Naples, Fla. Carol was an active member of Green Street Methodist Church in Augusta and North Naples Methodist Church in Naples, Fla.

Carol cherished life’s simple joys- motherhood, tennis, travel, and time spent with loved ones. Her greatest joy came from being “Nana” to her four granddaughters, Evelyn, Kathryn, Grace, and Anya.

She will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and gentle spirit. Carol leaves behind her children, David Chambers and Wendy Chambers Brown; son-in-law, Win Brown; and her adored granddaughters.

A celebration of life will be held in New Brunswick, Canada, at a later date.
