Joseph Aaron Reitze

MADISON – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joseph Aaron Reitze, who returned to the loving arms of Heaven on April 10, 2026, at the age of 21.

Joseph was born on Nov. 8, 2004, in Bangor, to Melissa Ann Jones and Shane Frank Reitze. From the very beginning, he brought joy and laughter into the lives of those around him. He grew up alongside his beloved siblings—Micah David Reitze, Majera Dawn Reitze, Lyra Donna-Marie Reitze, and Jenna Reitze—who will forever cherish the memories they shared over the past 21 years.

Joseph received his early education through homeschooling and graduated from Nokomis Regional High School in 2022. He had plans to attend college in the fall to study welding, with the goal of further developing his skills working on cars—a passion he discovered early in life and hoped to turn into a lifelong pursuit.

Known for his warmth and easygoing nature, Joseph made lasting friendships wherever he went. He had a dedicated circle of friends who remember him for the laughter he brought into their lives, his love of “poyo” stickers, and the affectionate nickname “Kirby.” He enjoyed gaming of all kinds, rebuilding cars with friends, and sharing his love for characters like Kirby, Zelda, and Invader Zim.

Joseph had a personality larger than life. His infectious laugh, quick humor, and kind spirit left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He was deeply compassionate, always willing to listen, and a strong advocate for mental health and well-being. Among his siblings, he was affectionately known as “Bubby,” a name that reflects the closeness and love they shared.

He is survived by his loving parents, Melissa Ann Jones and Shane Frank Reitze; his siblings, Micah David Reitze, Majera Dawn Reitze, Lyra Donna-Marie Reitze, and Jenna Reitze; and his cherished cat, Bloom.

A funeral service will be held on April 25, at 5 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Waterville.

The family welcomes and appreciates any kind words, photos, or stories shared in memory of Joseph.
