Joanne Bryand
CLINTON – Joanne Bryand, 81, of Clinton, Maine, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, March 26, 2026.
Joanne was born on July 18, 1944, in Waterville, Maine, to Joseph and Mary Cormier. She attended school in Waterville and later pursued her passion for beauty and care by attending cosmetology school.
Throughout her working years, Joanne was employed at Judy’s Grace and Ideal Hair Salon and at Sunset Boarding Home. She was especially proud of her time at Sunset Boarding Home, where she was recognized as Volunteer of the Year for her dedication and compassion toward the residents.
On Sept. 23, 1961, Joanne married Raymond Bryand Jr. Together, they built their life together and raised five children.
Joanne found joy in sewing, knitting, and, most of all, square dancing, which she enjoyed both as a hobby and a way to connect with others.
She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Mary Cormier; her husband, Raymond Bryand Jr.; her grandchildren, Jonathan Thomas and Corey Pease; and her siblings, Bernard Cormier, Peter Cormier, and Elizabeth Whitten.
Joanne is survived by her children, Deborah Bryand, Rhonda Robbins and her husband Robert, Kimberly Bowen and her husband Robert, Cynthia Vassey and her husband Geoff, and Raymond Bryand III and his wife Stacy. She is also lovingly remembered by her many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on April 28 at 11 a.m. at Saint Francis Cemetery in Waterville, Maine. Refreshments will follow at Corpus Christi Parish.
