Guard Aina Real and forward Zeina Haleem will join the University of Maine women’s basketball team next season, the school announced Friday.
Real is a 5-foot-9 guard from Balearic Island, Spain, who was on the Spanish national 3×3 team in U15 and U17 competitions.
Haleem is a 6-3 forward from Cairo, Egypt, who averaged 18.3 points, 15.1 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 2.1 blocks per game for her U18 club team in 2025-26. She was also a member of Egypt’s U16 national team and was the MVP of the U16 Arab Championship in 2025.
The Black Bears are coming off a 19-13 season in which they lost to Vermont in the America East championship game.
