Anderson Noyes had a double, a single and two RBI to lead the unbeaten Cony baseball team to an 18-0 victory over rival Gardiner in five innings Monday in Augusta.
John Lajoie and Wyatt McKenney each added three RBI for the Rams (4-0). Lance Theriault and Landen Perry drove in two runs. The Rams scored 10 times in the second inning.
Perry pitched and didn’t allow a hit in four innings. He struck out out six and walked two.
Peter Gove got the Tigers’ (0-4) only hit in the fifth inning.
MT. ARARAT 5, SKOWHEGAN 3: Will Davis had two hits, including a double, drove in a run and scored a run as the Eagles (3-1) beat the River Hawks (2-4) in Skowhegan.
Daniel Beal and Brady Hiltz each added two hits for Mt. Ararat.
Trevor Austin had three hits, including a double, scored twice and drove in one for Skowhegan. Trenton Austin added two hits.
MARANACOOK 13, BOOTHBAY 2: Cam Jones hit a two-run double and had a sacrifice fly as the Black Bears (4-1) beat the Seagulls (1-4) in Readfield.
Caldre Glowa, Noah Longfellow and Carter Nelson each drove in two runs for Maranacook. Glowa, Nelson and Grady Hreben each had a double, and Nelson struck out six in two innings of relief.
SOFTBALL
MONMOUTH ACADEMY 3, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 2: Lauren Burnham laid down a squeeze bunt to drive in the go-ahead run in the fifth inning and the Mustangs (4-0) beat the Falcons (1-2) in Monmouth.
Riley Smith preserved the lead when she threw out a runner at the plate in the sixth inning. Evelyn Pettengill earned the win, allowing eight hits and striking out eight to improve to 5-0.
Addison Tidswell had two singles and Kenzie Gammon had a double for Mountain Valley.
CARRABEC SWEEPS RANGELEY: The Cobras drew 16 walks on their way to a doubleheader sweep in North Anson.
Carrabec (4-3) drew 10 walks in the first game to win, 12-2, and drew six more in an 11-1 win in the second game.
In the opener, Karen Baker had a double, walked twice and scored twice for Carrabec. Lily Caldwell, Jillian Robinson and Kendall Scheve each had two RBI for the Cobras.
In Game 2, Baker, Ava Welch and Lily Kinney all scored twice.
LEWISTON 12, MESSALONSKEE 1: Madeline Andrews drove in a pair of runs and pitched all five innings to earn the win as the Blue Devils (5-1) beat the Eagles (0-5) in Oakland.
Andrews allowed one run on four hits, struck out five batters and walked two. Elsie Cloutier had a double, drove in a run and scored twice, while Juliet Phillipon added two hits and an RBI, and Piper Croteau and Isabelle Enos each had two RBI.
Riley St. Peter had a double for Messalonskee.
ERSKINE ACADEMY 5, BELFAST 4: Kelsie Dunn had four hits, including a home run, and scored three runs to lead the Eagles (4-1) over the Lions (1-2) in South China.
Lilly Clark had three hits and two RBI, while Faith MacMaster recorded two hits and an RBI.
Laura Carpenter led Belfast with three hits. Gracie Moore belted a triple.
GIRLS LACROSSE
GREELY 9, CONY 1: Tess Waterhouse scored three goals and MaKenna Seaver added two to lead Greely (4-2) past Cony (1-4) in Cumberland.
Abby Collins, Kacie Lord and Avery Bush also scored for the Rangers. Liv Clark made six saves.
Rylin Miller scored and Avery Maxim made six saves for the Rams.
MARANACOOK/WINTHROP 11, WELLS 7: Stella Stewart scored four goals and assisted on two as the Black Bears (5-0) defeated the Warriors (5-1) in Readfield.
Celia Bergdahl and Ingrid Stewart both added two goals.
