Check out Thoughtful Thursdays, for children ages 3-7, set for 10-10:30 a.m. Thursdays at Lithgow Public Library, 45 Winthrop St., Augusta.
The free event offers shared stories, songs and activities for children with their parents or caregivers.
Thoughtful Thursdays are about exploring topics like identifying and managing feelings, practicing mindful breathing and affirmations, and more.

Artwalk Gardiner
Don’t miss Artwalk Gardiner scheduled for 5-8 p.m. Friday in downtown Gardiner.
Local artists will exhibit their works in shops, galleries, artists’ studios and other venues. The evening also will feature live music with Gary Chapin on accordion.

Volunteer opportunity: Somerset Woods Share Spring Clean Up
Help out Somerset Woods Trustees by volunteering for an hour starting at 5:30 p.m. Friday at Parkman Hill Farm, 380 Parkman Hill Road in Solon.
Help clean up for spring and summer firewood processing. Some tasks include organizing pallets for firewood, moving two remaining pieces of farm equipment from underneath the barn, and completing other small tasks such as raking to prep the Woods Share.
This event is suitable for those 12 and older. Participants should expect to meet at the farm for a volunteer sign-in and a safety chat before heading to the site. If there are enough people, we will divide into small teams to complete different tasks. Gloves will be provided by Somerset Woods Trustees if needed and extra water will be available.

Pet Sounds Live
Waldo Theater plans to stage Pet Sounds Live at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the 916 Main St. theater in Waldoboro.
Pet Sounds Live is the premier Beach Boys album experience celebrating Brian Wilson’s iconic masterpiece that altered the course of rock ‘n’ roll.
In addition to the complete “Pet Sounds” album, the show also features other Beach Boys classics like “California Girls,” “Don’t Worry, Baby,” “I Get Around,” “Help Me, Rhonda,” “In My Room,” “Surfin’ USA,” “Do It Again” and the legendary pocket symphony, “Good Vibrations.”

Benton Alewife Festival
The Benton Alewife Festival is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Riverside Park at the Benton Town Office, 1279 Clinton Ave., Benton.
The free, rain‑or‑shine community event celebrates the annual return of alewives to the Sebasticook River.
The event will feature a mix of music, food, nature and family‑friendly activities.

Annual plant sale
The Central Maine Garden Club is set to host its annual plant sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, at the Sidney/Oakland United Methodist Church, 14 West School St., Oakland.
A selection of perennials for both shade and sunny spots, dug from the member’s gardens, will be available. Annuals, herbs and houseplants also will be available, and there will be a baked goods table.
Organization members look forward to helping with plant selection and answering questions.

Augusta Holistic Mystic Fair
Check out the Holistic Mystic Fair planned from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Maine Army National Guard Armory, 179 Western Ave., Augusta.
Participants can meet with a psychic medium. An animal communicator will be available to reveal your pet’s inner life. Bring a picture or description of pet.
Information about reiki and chakras will be available and artists and craftsmen will be on hand to talk about new age items, Native American work, metaphysical supplies, divination tools, gems, stones, oils and herbs, and more.

Lakewood Theater is set to stage “Jailbirds” at various times June 4-13 at 76 Theater Road in Madison.
The play by Colin Barrow takes place in the women’s communal area of a prison. The female inmates are all of a senior age and have all committed crimes so they can be imprisoned and cared for at the expense of the taxpayer, rather than paying high residential home fees. Now imprisoned, they’re still breaking laws with scams, forgeries and producing illegal substances on the prison grounds. The younger prison staff are kept on their toes with the luxury style of living the inmates wish to receive.
