Vinalhaven broke open a close game with five runs in the fourth inning en route to a 10-7 victory over Carrabec in a Class D South softball game Wednesday in Anson.

Olivia Philbrook struck out 11 in a complete-game effort for Vinalhaven (5-1) while allowing only two hits. She also had a double, a single, two RBI and three runs scored.

Karen Baker and Lily Caldwell each smacked a triple for Carrabec (4-4). Kaitlin Dellarma scored three runs..
