Vicki Lynn (Marsh) Stanchfield

NORTH MONMOUTH – Vicki Lynn Stanchfield (Marsh), 65, of North Monmouth, passed away peacefully at home on April 29, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born Sept. 3, 1960, in Gardiner, she was the eldest daughter of the late Roger Marsh and Sandra Medley. She graduated from Gardiner Area High School in 1978 and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in special education from the University of Maine at Farmington in 1982. During those years, she formed a deep and lasting bond with six friends, sharing laughter, loyalty, and unwavering support for each other for over 47 years.

Vicki married Scott Stanchfield on June 28, 1980, in their hometown of Gardiner. They bought a home in North Monmouth, where they raised two children, Kaitlin Wade and Tyler Stanchfield, and they remained there until they moved to Bingham, to run an inn in 2005.

Vicki devoted 30 years to teaching special education in the Augusta school system, where she made a lasting difference in the lives of her students and built treasured friendships with colleagues she lovingly called her “Lunch Bunch.” She had a gift for making people feel seen, valued, and cared for.

After retiring from Farrington Elementary School, Vicki and Scott spent nearly 20 years running the Riverside Inn in Bingham, where her warmth and eye for beauty created a place that felt like home to all who walked through the door. Strangers quickly became friends, and her kindness left a lasting impression on so many.

Vicki found joy in life’s simple and beautiful moments – supporting Scott as he performed on stage, tending to her gardens, antiquing, traveling, and spending cherished time with her sister Donna and dear friends.

Above all else, Vicki’s greatest joy was being “Grammie” to her three granddaughters, Madilynn Stanchfield, Presley, and Emery Wade. She was their biggest fan, never missing a moment to celebrate them, and loving them with her whole heart. That love will live on in them always.

Vicki is survived by her husband, Scott Stanchfield; her children, Kaitlin Wade and her husband Mark Wade and Tyler Stanchfield; and her granddaughters, Madilynn Stanchfield, and Presley and Emery Wade; her aunts, Sheila Thayer and Jackie McKee-Jenec; her sisters, Donna Marsh Buscher and Callie Marsh; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Vicki will be remembered as someone who made life more beautiful – whether through a carefully tended garden, a warmly set table, or the way she welcomed others in as if they were family. Her love was constant, her home was open, and her presence was a gift. Though she is gone, the seeds she planted – in her family, her friendships, and every life she touched – will continue to grow and bloom for years to come.

A celebration of Vicki’s life will be held from 1-5 p.m., on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at the American Legion Alfred Maxwell Jr. Post #40, 117 Bowdoin St., Winthrop.

Arrangements are in the care of Roberts Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 62 Bowdoin St., Winthrop. Memories, condolences, photos and videos may be shared with the family on the obituary page of the funeral home website, http://www.khrfuneralhomes.com.
